Description
This Masonic coin (medal or token) is a souvenir of the 1924 Masonic Exposition in New York City. This item was provided by Macoy Publishing Company, a major source of Masonic publications and supplies since 1849. The obverse hasthe words
MACOY PUBLISHING CO. 45 JOHN ST. MASONIC EXPOSITION NEW YORK 1924
, and the reverse has a radiant square and compass design plus two 'banners' (for engraving?).
The diameter i
s approximately 32 mm (1-1/4"), and the composition is copper.
This item is in extremely fine condition, with very light actual wear (if any), limited signs of handling, and toning, and it is bright. A coin collector would describe this copper item as 'red and brown' due to toning with retention of some of the original reddish copper color.
