New arrivals at the Zoo come in bunches during the Spring. This book of drawings, sketched by Langley at the London Zoo, captures the innocence and helplessness of the newborn animals.
Nina Scott Langley, born in 1890 was principally an animal painter and illustrator. She is perhaps best known in the canine world by her many illustrations for the standard work on dogs, Hutchinson's Book Of The Dog. She worked in collaboration with several others artists and much of her collection can be seen throughout that work.
The print has adequate margins to allow for easy framing with an outside dimension of
8.0" x 10.5"
. It has been stored flat, and is ready to be matted and framed. There is nothing printed on the reverse side of this print.
Like any print of this age their is some
minor foxing and age toning
