Description
This is a simply gorgeous Conway Stewart fountain pen. The nib is italic broad and is made of 18k gold. The barrel is imprinted with the following: “Conway Stewart Wellington No. 626/072 Made in England.”This pen does does not include the box or papers. It was very lightly used. There are minimal signs of use. There is some very light surface wear. There are no cracks, chips, or dents. Please see photos, as they are a part of the description. There was a small amount of ink inside that has since been flushed out with distilled water, but some ink residue remains.
This amazing pen belonged to my father, who was an avid fountain pen collector. I do not claim to be a fountain pen expert, but I can vouch for the quality of his pen collection. Please be on the lookout for more of his prized pens to be listed in the near future! I am more than happy to answer any questions that you may have to the best of my ability.
From Conway Stewart:
Arthur Wesley was born in Dublin in 1769. In 1798, his aristocratic Anglo-Irish family changed their name to Wellesley. In honour of Sir Arthur Wellesley, Conway Stewart commemorates the Duke of Wellington’s life by offering the Wellington as a new model within our range of fine quality writing instruments.
The barrel of the each pen is accented by two 18 carat hallmarked solid gold bands. The nibs are also crafted out of 18 carat solid gold and available in a choice of eight grades from Extra Fine to Extra Broad, Italic Fine, Italic Medium and Italic Broad. Special attention is given to our nibs to ensure a smooth wet line, satisfying even the most demanding writer, and the Wellington utilizes the reliable cartridge converter filling system.
