Cross-barred Venus Clam Shells (Chione cancellata) Lot Of 55. Hand collected from Sanibel Island, Florida. These shells vary in size from a penny to a quarter. The color also can very greatly from white with brown stripes, plain pastel white, light purple, or even a combo of all three. The braided texture characterizes these shells and tends to be most prominent on the brown striped and white shells. For some reason the purple shells tend to be smoother. Also the bottom of all the shell is smooth and is normally purple in color. I do have multiple quantities of this listing so the shells you receive will not be identical to those pictured but will be the same general size and appearance.
