Ming Dynasty Chinese Porcelain High Foot Bowl Hoi An Hoard with COA circa 1450 About 6 3/8 inches wide and just under 4 inches tall. About 542 grams in weight. Comes with its Certificate of Authenticity signed by SooHin Ong who was one of the people who recovered these piece from the Ship wreck (see photos) The Hoi An Hoard pieces that were put up for sale were sold in a number of auctions around the World. Here in Canada, the auction took place on Feb 16, 2004. It was preceeded by a presentation by Mr SooHin Ong. I attented that auction, where I purchased this piece. Mr. SooHin Ong personally advised me to buy this high footed bowl because he said there were relatively few of this shape recovered from the ship wreck. Fully documented ship wreck pieces like this are one of the only ways you can be 100% positive you are looking at a real circa 1450 Ming Dynasy example. Very Good antique condition as shown. No cracks, no repairs, no chips. Crazing lines in the glaze. There are presently lots of fake Hoi An pieces on ebay - but none of them have the COA that came with each one when they were originally sold at auction!
