MIDDLEBOROUGH MASS. OLD COLONY R A CHAPTER PENNY TOKEN, MARK: 2 MORTAR, PESTLES!

Description

This unusual Masonic penny (or token) is from the Old Colony Royal Arch Chapter in Middleborough, Massachusetts - a chapter no longer listed among active chapters.  One side identifies the chapter, and the other side has the words
ONE PENNY
, along with images of a chisel, maul, and large keystone.  Evidently, the 'brother' was a pharmacist, for his 'mark' engraved on both sides is an image of a pharmacy-type mortar and pestle. The diameter is
approximately 29 mm (1-1/8"), and the composition is copper.
This item is in very good to fine condition, with relatively light actual wear, toning, and soiling, and it is bright.  The two 'marks' are clearer than in the photos.
