    Sound Kodascope FS-10-N
    16mm sound projector.
    In 1941, Kodak introduced its new line of 16mm sound projectors that included the
    Sound Kodascope FS-10
    .
    In 1942, following the United States’ entry into World War II, the U.S. Navy placed a large order for
    Sound Kodascope
    FS-10
    projectors for use in training and for shipboard entertainment.
    These projectors were designated
    FS-10-N
    (for Navy.) Following the war, the
    FS-10-N
    designation was retained for the 16mm
    Sound Kodascopes
    that were sold commercially to the civilian market.
    As was the case with all military equipment, a detailed instruction book was prepared for the
    FS-10-N
    projectors.
    In addition to instructions for the set up and operation of the projector, it included schematics for the amplifier and projector’s electrical wiring, basic servicing instructions, parts lists, etc.
    This nice example of the Navy Instruction Book 367 for the
    Sound Kodascope FS-10-N
    projector measures about 8-3/4” x 10-1/2” and consists of 22 pages plus 7 fold out pages with the schematics, wiring diagrams, etc. (See the accompanying images).
