WD Fender Licensed Body For Precision Jazz Bass. Swamp Ash. Very nice piece of wood.
Comes with Precision pickguard and control cavity cover & 250K pots and jazz knobs.
Jazz neck pickup can be installed if desired.
Weight of body alone: 4Lbs, 9.7 oz. With pickguard and plate: 5 Lbs, 1.3 oz.
Was stained but then painted.
Painted with Rustoleum Black with 4 coats of Polyester semi-gloss. Some scratches and chipping around the neck pocket.
Neck cavity depth is slightly over .75 or 3/4 inches, same as my USA Precision bass standard.
Bridge pickup depth is 12/16ths.
There is a spot on the back where the drill bit came through when drilling for the bridge ground wire. Was patched and painted over. If you wanted to strip off the paint and stain it, be advised that there may be a spot there that won't accept stain due to wood glue.
I'm not a professional luthier, as witnessed by my freehand routing job for the Precision pickups. May not be pretty but, doesn't change the fact that this is still a very nice piece of Ash wood. Please keep this in mind when evaluating this body.
